These terms apply to every order placed on bestdealbarristerrobes.com. Please read them before you buy. By placing an order, you agree to them.
Who we are
This website is operated by Best Deal Barrister Robes, 433 William Street, London, Ontario, Canada. You can reach us through our contact page. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Best Deal Barrister Robes, and “you” means the person placing the order.
Where we sell
We sell and ship within Canada only. Both your billing address and your delivery address must be in Canada. We cannot accept orders for delivery outside the country.
Our products
We supply barrister robes, waistcoats, wing-collar shirts, tabs, and the complete call-to-bar package. We describe every item as accurately as we can, but screen colours vary between devices, so the shade of a garment in a photograph may differ slightly from the item you receive. Fabric weave and finish can also vary a little between production runs.
Court dress requirements differ by province and by law society. We are a supplier, not a regulator, so please confirm what your call ceremony or court requires before you order. Our size guide explains how to measure. If you are between sizes or unsure, contact us before ordering.
Prices and taxes
All prices are shown in Canadian dollars (CAD) and exclude sales tax. Applicable Canadian sales tax is calculated and added at checkout, based on your delivery address. You will see the full amount, including tax and any shipping charge, before you confirm payment.
We may change prices at any time, but a change never affects an order we have already accepted. If a product is listed at an obviously incorrect price, we will contact you before processing the order and you can confirm at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.
Placing an order
When you submit an order, you are making an offer to buy. We send an order confirmation email to acknowledge it. A contract is formed when we accept your order and begin production.
We may decline or cancel an order if the item is unavailable, if we cannot verify your payment or delivery details, if the delivery address is outside Canada, or if we suspect fraud. If we cancel an order you have paid for, we refund the full amount to your original payment method.
Payment
We accept credit and debit cards, processed by Stripe. Payment is taken in full when you place your order, because every garment is made to order.
We never see or store your full card number. Stripe handles card details directly and is certified to the PCI-DSS security standard. We receive only the card type, the last four digits, and whether the payment succeeded. Our privacy policy explains this in more detail.
Production and delivery
Every garment is made to order. Allow 3 to 4 weeks from the day you order to the day your parcel arrives. If you are ordering for a call-to-the-bar ceremony, please order well ahead of the date.
Timeframes are estimates, not guarantees. We are not responsible for delays caused by the courier, severe weather, postal disruption, or other events outside our control. Full details are on our shipping and returns page.
Changing or cancelling an order
Contact us as soon as possible if you need to change a size or cancel. If production has not started, we can usually make the change or cancel and refund you in full. Once a garment is in production or has shipped, we handle it as a return instead, under the policy below.
Returns
You can return unworn items with their tags attached within 30 days of delivery. Faulty, damaged, or incorrect items are our responsibility and we cover the cost of putting them right. The full conditions, timings, and how to start a return are set out on our shipping and returns page, which forms part of these terms.
Your account
You can check out as a guest or create an account. If you create one, keep your password private and let us know promptly if you think someone else has used it. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
Website content
The text, photographs, product descriptions, guides, and design on this site belong to us or to our licensors and are protected by copyright. You may view and print pages for your own use. You may not copy, republish, or use our content for commercial purposes without our written permission.
Please use the site lawfully. Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to it, disrupt it, or use automated tools to scrape it.
Accuracy of our guides
Our blog posts and guides on court dress and call-to-the-bar requirements are provided for general information. They are not legal advice and they do not replace guidance from your law society or call organiser. Rules change, so check the current requirements with the relevant authority.
Our responsibility to you
We take care to supply garments that match their description and are of acceptable quality. If something goes wrong, our total liability for an order is limited to the amount you paid for it, except where the law does not allow that limit.
We are not liable for indirect losses, such as missed ceremonies, travel costs, or lost earnings. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Ontario Consumer Protection Act, 2002 or other consumer protection law that applies to you, and nothing excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
Privacy
How we handle your personal information is set out in our privacy policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page when you place your order is the one that applies to that order. The date at the top shows when we last made a change.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes will be handled by the courts of Ontario. This does not remove any right you have to bring a claim where you live in Canada.
